STARTED MONDAY (continued) extracted from the Crawford Weekly Mirror Jan. 19, 1922 All efforts have been made to select the correct grades of materials to construct the hotel building to harmonize with its surroundings. The foundation of the building will be of concrete, above this it will consist of framing with fire proof mangiest stucco with natural color pebble dash for the outside covering. The roof will be of green gray slate. All of the interior will be plastered and fresco decorated. There will be hardwood floors all highly polished. All rooms will be furnished with modern furniture, carpets and draping. The building will be 240 feet on straight line across the front, consisting of two wings, each 12 feet long by 44 feet deep, with the main lobby 711 feet between the wings. Wildwood Springs Hotel will be the pride of Crawford County, a place of beauty, recreation and it is needless to enumerate all the benefits derived thereby. And too much praise con not be given to the Wildwood Spring Resort Association, for the determination and energy that has accompanied their very effort, from the moment that the idea of a modern recreational hotel to be built near Steelville was first conceived on down to the present. And which will continue there for many more months. Wildwood Springs Hotel will be a standing monument to that determination and energy. |
